PITPULSE BBQ PRIVACY POLICY

PitPulse BBQ (the “App”) is a local-only barbecue cook and temperature tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.

1. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED

The App does not require account creation, registration, sign-in or a personal profile.

2. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

Information you enter into the App—including cook names, meat presets, cooking targets, smoker targets, temperature readings, timestamps and notes—is stored locally on your device. App preferences, such as temperature unit, theme, default preset, reminder interval and alert settings, are also stored locally.

The App does not transmit cooking logs or App preferences to the developer or to developer-operated servers. Android backup is disabled for the App.

3. INFORMATION THE APP DOES NOT COLLECT

The App does not collect or access:

• Location data
• Contacts
• Photos, videos or media library files
• Camera data
• Microphone or audio data
• Phone, SMS or call-log data
• Advertising identifiers
• Personal profiles
• Bluetooth or nearby-device information

The App contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, social-media or user-tracking SDKs. It does not request internet access and does not provide cloud synchronization.

4. OPTIONAL LOCAL NOTIFICATIONS

On Android versions that require runtime permission, the App may request permission to display notifications after you enable a reminder or cook alert. This permission is used only to show local notifications you request, such as temperature logging reminders, target-temperature alerts, possible stall alerts and smoker-temperature drift alerts.

Notification content is created on your device. You may deny or disable notification permission at any time. The App’s core cooking log, calculations, charts, history and export features remain available without notification permission.

5. CSV EXPORTS

When you choose Export CSV, the App uses Android’s system document picker so you can select where to save the file. The exported file may contain cook metadata, temperature readings, timestamps and notes from the cook you selected. The App writes the CSV only to the user-selected location and does not upload it.

After export, the file is controlled by you and by any application or storage provider you choose to use. Review the privacy practices of third-party storage providers before saving or sharing exported files with them.

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Cooking data remains on your device until you delete it, erase the App’s cooking data from Settings, clear the App’s storage through Android settings or uninstall the App. You may delete individual temperature readings and individual cook sessions inside the App. “Erase all cooking data” deletes all cook sessions and readings while retaining reasonable App preferences.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App is a general cooking utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user. Because the App does not transmit user information to the developer, the developer does not maintain personal information about children.

8. FOOD TEMPERATURE DISCLAIMER

PitPulse BBQ is a cooking log and planning tool. Preset targets and estimates are not food-safety guarantees. Users should verify food temperatures with a reliable food thermometer and follow appropriate local food-safety guidance.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the App’s data practices or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the policy identifies the latest version. Any updated policy should accurately describe the version of the App distributed through Google Play.
